Jay Wells

Jay Wells (born May 18, 1959 in Paris, Ontario, Canada) is a retired professional ice hockey defenceman who played 18 seasons in the NHL from 1980 until 1997.
Wells was drafted 16th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. He played 1098 career NHL games, scoring 47 goals and 216 assists for 263 points while adding 2359 penalty minutes. Wells' best offensive season was 1986, when he set career highs with 11 goals, 31 assists, and 42 points. He won the Stanley Cup in 1994 with the New York Rangers.
Wells now operates a sawmill in his hometown of Paris, Ontario and also plays some Senior 'A' hockey.
