Jay Terrien is a Los Angeles, California based bassist, violist and composer. He writes edgy, textural music that prominently features aggressive bass and drum arrangements which include fretless bass counterpoint passages.

Terrien's music is a blend of alternative rock and pop genre structures strewn together with flamenco bass rhythmic structures, improvisational jazzscape chord textures, fingerpicking, and sometimes, layers of ambient bass looping.
