Jay Manalo is an award-winning Filipino actor. He was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in January 30, 1975. He was raised in Tondo, Manila.

His film debut was the action film, Brat Pack starring Gary Estrada in 1994. He quickly became the lead role in his second film, Paracale Gang in 1996. In that same year, he turned from action star to sexy star when we starred in the movie, Gayuma opposite Amanda Page. Possessing boyish looks and an oozing sex appeal, he has beoame the favorite to lead in a number of bold movies in the Philippines in the late 1990s up to the present. The film Totoy Mola, was his first lead role in sexy films. Playing the title role, his character is a man from the province endowned having a very huge, horse-like penis. He moved to Manila, after he accidentally killed his girlfriend by attempting to penetrate his big penis to his girlfriend. In the ciy, he meets two women and in turn loves both of them. Without any skills, he became a male prostitute and the main macho dancer in a gay bar. Because of jealousy one of his girlfriends, cuts Totoy's penis. In the end, eventhough he doesn't have his penis anymore, the other girlfriend accepted him still.
After Totoy Mola, he played lead in different bold flicks like Kool Ka Lang, Kaliwat Kanan, Sakit sa Katawan, Bayad Puri, Bawal na Halik and Balahibong Pusa. By turn of the century, his roles were more serious and dramatic. His recent performances were well-received by movie critics and he has been nominated and eventually won awards from award giving bodies in the Philippines. Some of his noticeable portralyals are in the films like Prosti, Bayaran, Ang Huling Birhen sa Lupa, Hubog, Aishite Imasu 1941: Mahal Kita and Mano Po 3. He has recently ventured in other film genres. He starred in comedy movies like I Will Survive and Ako Legal Wife and Fantasy/Horror Films like Gagamboy, Feng Shui and his latest film, Barang.

Jay Manalo has been part of the cast of various soap operas. His TV career started appearing in the top-rating soap in 1997, Mula sa Puso which stars Claudine Barretto in 1997. His breakthrough role in television is his portrayal in the soap opera, Vietnam Rose in ABS-CBN in 2005. He plays Miguel, a Vietnamese businessman who was Carina's (played by Maricel Soriano) first love. Though the performances of the cast were well-cited by critics, the ratings were disappointing. He then moved to the rival network, GMA. He is currently included in the cast of Bakekang. He plays Christoph, an actor and a love interest of the lead role, Bakekang, played by Sunshine Dizon and Valeria, played by Sheryl Cruz. Bakekang is currently one of the top-rating shows in the Philippines.

At the age of 30, he already has 10 children, by 5 women. Jay Jr., 10; Sharmaine Joy, 10; Jaeandra Marie, 8; Jericho Martha, 7; Jayerianne Toni, 6; Ashely Nicole Zaine, 6; Jayenne Therese, 5; and Adrianne Riona Jaenylla, 1. He married Raizza, Adrianne's mother last January. His father is a musician based before in the Philippines and there he met Jay's mother. After Jay was born they moved to Manila and by the time he was five, his father stole him from his mother, and then she was reunited with him in 1995. His mother married a US Navy serviceman and his father continued in his music.
