[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hello Jasonflare and welcome to Wikipedia!
After seeing one of your contributions, I just thought I'd stop by and say hello. There can be a lot to Wikipedia, so I thought I'd let you know of some important links, such as:
- What Wikipedia is
- What Wikipedia isn't
- A brief tutorial
- Wikipedia syntax
- The help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style (a great reference)
- The Sandbox, a page for making test edits
If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or you can just ask me on my talk page Alternatively, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Again, welcome and if there is anything at all I can do for you, just leave me a message. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 09:48, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My apologies
Yes, I noticed immediately afterwards. I removed the comment from your talk page. Please accept my apologies. —CuiviénenT|C|@ on Wednesday, 31 May 2006 at 19:46 UTC
I'm sure it was a mistake. No harm. User:Jasonflare
[edit] 24
I don't think there is a specific policy on transwiking things from wikicity, there should be no problem as long as we stick to the GFDL (which is the license that all wikipedia and wikicities articles are under). This basically says we have to credit the original source and the authours.
In spirit of that, I created a template :D. It's called {{24wikicity}}. It would be great if you could put it at the bottom of every page that is copied from the 24 wiki. If the name of the wikipedia article is different from the name of the 24 wiki article, put in {{24wikicites|article=Whatever}}. I'm gonna go through a bunch of them as soon as I'm done writing to you, but if you see one I missed, please just put that at the bottom. Cheers! Oskar 20:53, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 21:00, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:24officiallogo.JPG)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:24officiallogo.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 14:39, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Kskiefersutherlandprofilepic.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Kskiefersutherlandprofilepic.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Oden 05:50, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- The image also lacks a source and detailed fair use rationale. Sincerely, --Oden 05:50, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
