Jason Miller is a drummer from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Jason Miller recently relocated to the southwest PA region from Dallas, Texas where he had resided for the past ten years. In Texas, he maintained an active performance schedule playing with numerous ensembles including the Ft. Worth Symphony, the Dallas Opera Orchestra and the Dallas Wind Symphony. In addition, he served as a core member of the percussion sections of several acclaimed regional orchestras including the Garland and Richardson Symphonies. Jason Miller's extended music education includes a Bachelor of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1994 (a student of Vic Firth and Fred Buda of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), and a Master of Music Degree from Southern Methodist University in 1997 where he studied with Doug Howard and Kalman Cherry of the Dallas Symphony. On the trap-kit, Jason Miller continues to be a student of world renowned drumset artist/clinician Dom Famularo, traveling about 4 weekends a year to Long Island for extended tutoring sessions in Dom's studio. In Dallas, Jason Miller was most recently performing as the drummer of several local top tier popular groups including the fusion band Water Sign, the variety/dance band The David Whiteman Experience, and his own traditional jazz trio. Jason has also performed as the drummer for several musical theater production companies in the DFW region. Now in Pittsburgh, he has joined the roster as the drummer for multiple performing groups including the popular party band Uncle Sam and jazz singer Annie Sutton. In addition to an active performing schedule in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Mr. Miller served as the Director of Percussion for the Rockwall Independent School District in suburban Dallas for the past eight years. His duties included teaching individual private lessons to over sixty percussion students each week, teaching the 6th grade beginning percussion class 3 days a week at each of the District's two middle schools, directing weekly sectionals with the percussion section of each band, coordinating/directing the middle school percussion ensembles and administrating/directing the high school's award winning marching drumline. Now residing in Washington, PA, Jason Miller still maintains a rigorous teaching schedule. In addition to his responsibilities at Mt. Lebanon, he is currently the Percussion Director for both the Trinity and Upper St. Clair High Schools, coordinating and directing each school's drumline, percussion ensemble and teaching percussion lessons at both campuses. Most recently Jason has been touring with the band Rusted Root.

Jason Miller is an Assistant Director of Mt. Lebanon Percussion, and is mainly responsible for the Drum Line. He also directs the 8th Grade Ensemble and teaches private lessons. Though well versed in all of percussion, Jason Miller is most notably a drum set player; a position he fills in the popular Pittsburgh-based band Rusted Root. He is sponsored by Vic Firth. Mr. Miller's music education includes a Bachelor of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in 1994 (a student of Everett Firth and Fred Buda), and a Master of Music Degree from Southern Methodist University in 1997 where he studied with Doug Howard and Kalman Cherry. He is currently a student of world renowned drum set artist/clinician Dom Famularo.
