[edit] With Weezer

Jason Cropper was the original guitarist for Weezer, and as such was present at the band's first official band practice on February 14, 1992. He recorded on the band's first three official demo tapes that were done previous to their signing to Geffen Records.

However, in 1993, during the recording of Weezer (aka The Blue Album), Cropper left the band and was then officially replaced by current guitarist Brian Bell who formerly performed with the band 'Carnival Art'.

Cropper has a co-writing credit on Weezer's "My Name is Jonas."

[edit] Post-Weezer

In 1996, Cropper played guitar on Uncle Bob, an alt-rock album from 22 Jacks, which featured members of Wax, Aerosmith, Adolescents and Agent Orange. link

More notably, Cropper recorded with his band Chopper One on Restless Records, that featured his now ex-wife, Amy. They also toured from '97-'98.

After parting ways with Restless Records, Chopper One broke up and Jason began a new project called Fliptop. This post-punk/pop super group combo featured Dallan Baumgarten on Guitar, Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Guns N' Roses, Vandals, Devo, Gwar) on drums and Scott Shiflett (Face to Face, Jackson United) on the bass. Although an official full-length feature album was recorded, only five of the fourteen tracks were mixed down (for demo purposes). link

He also wrote, recorded, performed and published the official theme song for the short-lived Fox sitcom, "Andy Richter Controls the Universe".

[edit] Recently

However, as of early 2006 Cropper has shown signs of returning to music as has been posting songs on his myspace page.
