Jason Collett is a Canadian singer-songwriter, born in Brampton, Ontario. He performs both as a solo artist and as a member of Broken Social Scene.
Collett started in music as a member of Andrew Cash's band. He subsequently took time off from music to raise his children, and returned in 2000 with the album Chrome Reflection, which was credited to Bird, a band consisting of Collett, Cash and Hawksley Workman, with additional contributions from Lenni Jabour, Josh Finlayson and Gavin Brown.
As of late 2005 Jason Collett has taken a hiatus from Broken Social Scene to continue to pursue his solo career, and promote his recent album Idols of Exile with his backing band Paso Mino, which consists of Robbie Drake, Afie Jurvanen, Jimmy O'Brien and Micheal P. Clive.
