Jason Bittner

Jason Bittner (born January 11, 1970) is the drummer for the metal band Shadows Fall. He is from Albany, New York, and is an experienced drummer who played in several bands. He joined Shadows Fall (after doing a tour as a substitute for their last drummer) right before the release of their second major label album (Century Media) The Art Of Balance. Before playing in Shadows Fall he played in the band Stigmata for many years. He left his secure job to join Shadows Fall on a tour and eventually became their drummer. Jason has recently been filling in for Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante. Charlie is taking a break to be with his wife after she gave birth to their first baby.

Early in his drumming career, played with a regional Metal band known as "Symptom Hate".

For a period of time while drumming for Stigmata, Jason pulled double-duty by also beating skins in the band China White.

He played in the 2005 Modern Drummer Festival with other drummers like Chris Adler.

Recently he was voted the #1 drummer in the "Metal" category in the July edition of Modern Drummer magazine's 2006 Readers' Poll.
