Jason Jamar Allen (born July 5, 1983 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama) is a current American football cornerback and safety for the Miami Dolphins. He was drafted 16th overall in the 2006 NFL Draft.
Allen attended the University of Tennessee where he played defensive back for 3 years. An injured hip kept Allen out of action for most of 2005. Allen is expected to compete as a starting free safety or cornerback during training camp. While in college Allen earned a few honors including; 2004 All-America Associated Press(3rd), 2004 All-SEC Coaches and Associated Press(2nd), Jim Thorpe Award Semifinalist, Walter Camp Division I-A Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 23, 2004)
On October 22, 2006, Allen made his defensive debut against the Green Bay Packers. He had two tackles in a losing effort. On November 5th, 2006, Allen got his first interception in a win against the 7-0 Bears.
