Jarret Stoll (b. 24 June 1982 in Melville, Saskatchewan) plays centre for the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers.
Stoll grew up in Neudorf and played hockey in Yorkton, Saskatchewan throughout his minor hockey, excelling into the AA and AAA systems. He played for the Saskatoon Contacts in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA hockey association. He was taken first overall in the WHL Bantam draft by the Edmonton Ice. When the franchise was moved to Kootenay, Stoll's rights were moved as well. He quickly became a star in the Western league leading the team to a League championship and a Memorial Cup.
In 2001 he was named to Team Canada's world junior team where they won a silver medal. He was named Captain of the 2002 team, again, winning a silver.
He was originally drafted 46th overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames, but re-entered the 2002 NHL Entry Draft following an inability to come to terms on a contract. He was subsequently picked in the second round, 36th overall, by the Edmonton Oilers, who had received the pick as part of a package from Buffalo in exchange for winger Jochen Hecht.
After one season playing for the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League, Stoll became a regular in the Oilers line-up. However, after just one season of play in the major league, the NHL lockout forced Stoll to return to the AHL, though he remained in Edmonton, playing for the Road Runners.
After the lockout, Stoll returned to the Edmonton Oilers and became the Oilers' face-off specialist and one of the team's top scorers during the 2005-06 season.
Stoll was part of the Edmonton Oiler team that made a run to the Stanley Cup Finals. However, the Oilers lost in game 7 of the finals to the Carolina Hurricanes. Stoll had 4 goals and 6 assists in the 2006 Playoffs.
In addition to hockey, Stoll is well known for his relationship with supermodel Rachel Hunter. Recent unverified photographs show a topless Hunter lying with Stoll on a beach.
On July 21, 2006 Stoll signed a two year deal with the Edmonton Oilers, avoiding an arbitration hearing scheduled for July 24, 2006.
