Jarocho is a Spanish language word used in Mexico to describe a person, item or music from the state or city of Veracruz, Mexico.
Jarochos, the plural word, is often used to describe wandering bands of minstrel musicians, operating similar to mariachis, who dress and play in the Veracruz style. Jarochos are visually distinguished from mariachis by their traditional white suits and white cowboy hats. The music played by jarochos is known as Son Jarocho.
