Jared Huffman is the Assemblyman elect for California's 6th Assembly district which includes Marin and southern Sonoma counties. Huffman won the Democratic nomination for the sixth district in a hotly-contested primary in June of 2006 in which surprised the political establishment with a victory over opponent Pamela Torliatt, a Petaluma city councilwoman. Huffman defeated Dr. Michael Hartnett for in the General election on November 7, 2006.
