[edit] Where did this "poor Portuguese translation" thing came from?
I'm a native Portuguese speaker and I can tell you there's no way "Guardia de Mieux" could have been derived from the Portuguese language. Based on the phrase cited as the source of such translation, "the guardian of man's desire", the closest thing in Portuguese that would express this idea would be "Guarda dos Desejos" (Keeper of Desire), "Guardião das Ambições" (Guardian of Ambition) or something like that. As far as I can tell, "mieux" is a French word meaning "better"; the correspondent word in Portuguese is "melhor", and I can assure you it bears no resemblance at all, denotative or polysemic, to "desejo" (desire), let alone "desejos dos homens" (men's desire). Thus my request for clarification/sources.
Thanks,
