As indicated by the tag at the top of the article, this needs clean-up in general. The introduction needs to be better organized and better separated from the rest of the text; the text needs to be better organized and better phrased in general, overall. And something at the bottom - references, see also, external links, maybe some kind of nav template to other elements of the naval aspect of the Pacific War, if such a thing exists.
