Jantirar: the title borne by the head of the family holding the mountain fortress of Ambassel.

The office of Jantirar (or Jan Serar) is mentioned by Remedius Prutky in his Travels to Ethiopia and Other Countries, trans. J.H. Arrowsmith-Brown (London: Hakluyt Society, 1991), p. 130 & note. As for the rest of the article, I am still looking for cites. -- llywrch 03:57, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
