Jangaon is located at 17.72° N 79.18° E^[1]. It has an average elevation of 382 metres (1253 feet). it is a revnue division

the name of jangaon evolved from "jain gaon" which means village of jains a religion of india. kolanpak (kulpak)of nalgonda district which is about 20km from jangaon is a famous piligrimage centre for jain people n it has much historical back ground.

when jain religion dominated in india most of the tourists from different places of india visited kulpak. at that time most of the jains they setteled in jangaon, which is called jaingaon at that time. things changed from time to time n people started calling it as jangaon. kulpak's history starts in 1st century A.D. n we find the archeological scluptures at there now .

As of 2001 India census^GRIndia, Jangaon had a population of 43,601. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Jangaon has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 59%. In Jangaon, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

The life of the people here is directly or indirectly depending on agriculture. House construction, education, farming, farming related business, handloom, weaving are major occupation of the people here.
