Jan Smit (singer)

Jan Smit (Volendam, December 31, 1985), is a Dutch singer. He scored his first Number 1-position in the Dutch charts in 1997, with Ik zing dit lied voor jou alleen. Being 12 years of age back then, he still called himself Jantje Smit (Little Jan Smit).

Jan Smit was discovered by BZN, who used his vocals in a duet called Mama. He has released several albums in dutch and german since. In 2001 Jan Smit won the Exportprijs for his succes in Germany, France and Italy.
