Jamie Thomas

Jamie Thomas is a professional skateboarder from Dothan, Alabama. He was born on October 11, 1974. He started skateboarding at the age of eleven. He has been a pro skateboarder for over 14 years and is the President of Black Box Distribution. In 2006, he won the prestigious "Entrepreneur of the Year" award from Ernst & Young.

He is the founder of Zero Skateboards, Mystery Skateboards, Fallen Footwear and rides for Thunder Trucks. He is married with two children and resides in Encinitas, California.

Thomas started Zero Skateboards in 1996 and assembled a team of young "up and comers" including Matt Mumford and Adrian Lopez.

The first Zero video "Thrill Of It All" (1997) featured Jamie's attempt at what would be coined "The Leap Of Faith", an eighteen-foot, eight-inch drop over a handrail at Point Loma High School in San Diego, California. His board snapped immediately upon impact. However, Jamie walked away unscathed and supposedly has not attempted to try it again. Several other skateboarders have attempted The Leap of Faith, but none have been publicly successful.
