From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jamestown Community College is a two-year college in the SUNY system. JCC has two campuses in Chautauqua County, New York, located in Dunkirk and Jamestown. A third campus serves Cattaraugus County in Olean. A fourth site is located in Warren, Pennsylvania. The college offers degree and certificate programs in many areas.
[edit] History
The college was founded in 1950 with 169 students in the Jamestown High School. Subsequently, a new campus was constructed at the south end of Chautauqua Lake.
Current enrollment is about 4,000 students.[citation needed]
[edit] Athletics
The athletic teams have taken the mascot Jayhawks.
- REDIRECT The now closed Jamestown High School in the state of Kansas claimed the same mascot and were called the Jamestown Jayhawks. The relationship is merely coincidence.
