James Thatcher is an American born horn player. He has performed on film soundtracks including Independence Day, Sleepers, Forrest Gump, Dances With Wolves and Schindler's List.

Thatcher has just been appointed on tenure to the faculty of the USC Thornton School of Music as the professor of Horn.
