James Sinegal

James Sinegal is co-founder and CEO of Costco, an international low-price membership retail chain headquartered in Issaquah, Washington, USA. Sinegal was born January 1, 1936 in Pittsburgh, Penn. He was a protege of Sol Price, who pioneered the concept of the warehouse store that sells high volumes of a small variety of goods. He is known for a benevolent style of management that offers employees high benefits and rewards. According to salary.com, he only makes $550,000 in base pay, with another $3.5 million in long term incentives. This is considerably less than the CEOs of Costco's competitors.

Mr. Sinegal is a graduate of San Diego State University (SDSU).

Sinegal was named to Time Magazine's 2006 list of The 100 most influential people.
