James Shigeta

James Shigeta (born June 17, 1933) is an American film and television actor.
Born in Hawaii of Japanese ancestry, Shigeta studied at New York University but went into show business after winning first prize on Ted Mack's television talent show, Original Amateur Hour. He is best known for his leading role opposite Nancy Kwan in the 1961 film version of the Broadway musical, Flower Drum Song, and as the ill-fated corporate executive Joseph Yoshinobu Takagi in the 1988 action adventure film Die Hard.
