James Richardson (television presenter)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Richardson is the anchor for Football Italia, Bravo TV (UK)'s live coverage of Serie A, and British Eurosport's live Tour de France broadcasts. He also presents the weekly magazine show Gazzetta Football Italia. He is known for his distinctive appearance, witty one-liners and crisp delivery from famous landmarks around Italy, usually involving an untouched dessert.

Prior to presenting the show on Bravo, Richardson fronted Football Italia on Channel 4 from 1992 to 2002, and British Eurosport's coverage of the sport from 2002 to 2005.

He is a keen supporter of AS Roma, as a result of his ex-girlfriend being a supporter of them.

He also currently contributes to Haymarket's leading football magazine, FourFourTwo, as their Italian football correspondent. He has a regular column on the Guardian Unlimited website, and hosted their series of podcasts (The World Cup Show) for the 2006 World Cup. He has since been doing regular podcasts known as Football Weekly.

Appropriately enough, he shares a name with James Richardson Spensley, who is said to be the founding father of football in Italy.
