James Reed (born February 3, 1977 in Saginaw, Michigan) is an American football nose tackle for the NFL's New York Jets. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Iowa State University. He currently plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. At Iowa State he helped get the Cyclones there first bowl win ever. He played under legendary coach Dan McCarney.

Reed attended Iowa State University, and was a three-year starter and a three-time All-Big 12 conference selection.
