James Pickens, Jr.

James Pickens, Jr. (October 26, 1954) in Cleveland, Ohio is an American actor most notable for his work as Dr. Richard Webber, chief of surgery on the ABC drama series, Grey's Anatomy. Pickens has also guest starred on Curb Your Enthusiasm, The West Wing, The X-Files, Roseanne, Beverly Hills 90210 and Six Feet Under.
Pickens is married and has two children.
In his spare time Pickens can be found riding horseback and roping cattle. He is a member of the United States Team Roping Championship and competes in roping events across the country. He owns an American Quarter Horse named Smokey.
James' two children Carl Tharps (31-m), and Gavyn Pickens(18) are both pursuing careers in show business. His son Carl is currently working on a Hip- Hop career and can be seen in various Television Appearances, Including "Hanging' with Mr Cooper" where he appeared alongside his long time friend Omar Gooding. Carl and Omar were also apart of the hip-hop group "SOP" (Sons Of Pangea) which performed mainly in the Los Angeles area, along with other various venues In southern California.
