James McKinney Elementary School is situated in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada that serves students from Grades K-7 and is a part of the Richmond School District (SD38). It was named after a pioneer farmer who lived in Richmond. The school is located on the west side of Lassam Road. It feeds the Steveston (soon to be Steveston-London) high school. The current principal of this elementary school is Pamela Essex.

The school was originally built as an annex to the Lord Byng Elementary School. In 1996, the school underwent a renovation where many classrooms were added including a new office. The amount of people attending the school changes every year from around 200-350 students, most of which live in the same catchment area. A majority of the students attending the school are from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China.

A fire at the school in September 2006 serioulsy damaged two classrooms, forcing closure of the school for a week and redirecting students to neighbouring schools. No one was injured in the incident.

The school colours of McKinney are blue, white and gray.
