James M. Shuart Stadium

James M. Shuart Stadium is a 15,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Hempstead, New York. It opened in 1962. It is home to the Hofstra University Pride football team. It hosted the first Division I NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship game in 1971 and 2006. The Long Island Lizards use the stadium as their home stadium for part of the 2001 season and the full season in 2002. The stadium was named Hofstra Stadium prior to August 29, 2002.
