James Lawson (footballer)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
James Lawson (born 21 January 1987) is an English professional footballer currently playing for Southend United.
Lawson had a dream debut for Southend United, needing just 10 minutes to score in a 2-1 win over Oldham Athletic in 2005.
Lawson kept his place in the side for the next few weeks, getting another goal in a 3-1 victory against Tranmere Rovers, before injury put him on the side-lines.
Lawson is nicknamed 'Peanut' due to his likeness in looks to the tv character Peanut from the cartoon "Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Friends"
In September 2006 he went on a months loan to League Two side Grimsby Town. He was sent back to Roots Hall early though, after just one substitute appearance having failed to make any sort of impact and claiming to be homesick.
