James Redfern Hopes (born October 24, 1978, Townsville, Queensland) is a Queensland and Australian cricketer.
A brisk medium-pacer whose aggressive, exciting batting has been shuffled around the Queensland top order. James Hopes had previous played for Australia's Under 19 side as a batsman but as his career has progressed he has become more of a bowling all-rounder. He has opened the batting for Australia in Twenty20 matches.
