James G. King

James Gore King (1791 - 1853) was an American businessman and politician.
James Gore King was the third son of Rufus King. In the War of 1812 he was an assistant adjutant-general.
He was a banker in Liverpool and afterwards in New York, and was president of the New York and Erie Railroad until 1837, when by his visit to London he secured the loan to American bankers of $1,000,000 from the governors of the Bank of England.
In 1849-1851 he was a representative in Congress from New Jersey.
