James E. Taylor High School, also known as Katy Taylor High School is a public high school in Harris County, Texas, near the city of Katy.

The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Katy Independent School District and is a 5A institution. It opened in 1982 and is rivals with Katy High School. In 2003, Newsweek Magazine ranked Taylor High the 356th most difficult high school in the nation.

Taylor has long been known for excellence in both academics and extra-curricular activities. The Academic Decathlon team has won two national championships and numerous state championships. Taylor continued to uphold this great tradition by placing in the top 40 at the state meet. The Taylor theatre department has also won several UIL state championships. The Taylor tennis team has been in the final 4 schools in the state competition for 12 years running, and it has won state 3 of those years, tying the state record. Taylor High School also has a very successful swim team who won the State Championship in 2001 and 2003, finished fourth 2002, 2004, and 2005, and third in 2000 and 2006. The Taylor orchestra has performed twice at New York City's Carnegie Hall, and many of its students have placed in the Texas All-State orchestras. Taylor is known for excellence in academics and athletic performance. It is also a Blue Ribbon School and has ranked among the best in graduation rates, SAT scores, college admittance, and AP scores.
