James Dickens

James Dickens is a member of the city council of Irving, Texas. He was re-elected in May 2004 to serve a three-year term. Dickens is a City of Irving Public Works/Engineering retiree. He currently serves as a member of the council's Public Works committee and chair of the Community Services committee. He also serves as the Council liaison to the Parks and Recreation Board and Youth Council, as well as the alternate liaison to the Preservation and Redevelopment Board. Additionally, Dickens serves on the Board of Directors of the North Texas Urban League and the Supplemental Benefits Plan Board.
He is an Irving resident since 1960, Dickens is son to American father and Mexican mother and is fluent in Spanish. Dickens has two sisters Linda and Eileen, who resides in Puebla, Mexico with the family's mother and her son. When not visiting with his children or grandchildren, he can be seen driving around Irving on his Harley-Davidson checking the city out.
