James Ashmore (born. March 2, 1986 in Sheffield) is an English footballer, who plays for Sheffield United.

A graduate of the Blades Academy and having impressed at every junior level since signing at the age of 10, Ashmore is creative central midfielder who can also operate in wide areas and at full-back. With a range of neat passes and an eye for goal, he was offered a one-year professional deal in the summer and has been a regular fixture in United's Reserves 'B' team this term. He has also appeared as a second-half substitute for the Blades Reserves 'A' against Bolton.

Along with team-mates Colin Marrison and Ryan Gyaki, Ashmore played as a trialist for Football League One side Yeovil Town at Huish Park against Welton Rovers in the Somerset Premier Cup on October 3, 2006.
