James Aldridge

James Aldridge (born 10 July 1918) is an Australian author

He was born in Swan Hill, Victoria and currently lives in Battersea, South West London. Some of his stories are based on the real living conditions of his hometown such as his 1995 Children's Book Council of Australia book of the year "The True Story of Lilli Stubeck".

He won a Lenin Memorial Peace Prize in 1973 for 'his outstanding struggle for the preservation of peace'. He has also won the Rhys Memorial Prize, the World Peace Council Gold Medal, and the International Organisation of Journalists Prize.
