[edit] History
In 1974, the Eddy family bought the area around Jamberoo and began dairy farming. For years the farm received only small profits and when the milk quotas were reduced, they had no choice but to close down their farm. As the land is very steep, there were no agricultural choices for the family but to adapt it into something else.
All the Eddy family were accomplished skiers with strong imaginations. Their idea was triggered by a show they saw on television of an Olympic skier practising on grass. They then purchased ten grass skis and set up a small grass skiing venue.
This was a great success and they began construction of a chairlift to speed up skiing time and another 20 pairs of skis were bought.
In 1980 the Eddy family decided to turn it into a recreation park and began building facilities such as restaurants, cafes and car parks.
The first stage of Jamberoo Recreation Park was completed in time for the staging of the 1980 Australian Grass Ski Titles with final safety checks just one day prior to the event.
In 1981 the waterslide was constructed and the park began to grow from there on. They closed down the grass skiing to build the locally renowned toboggan and many new swimming pools and rides were constructed.
Recently they have bought many new animals from all around the world including geese and llamas.
In 2006, the name of the park was changed from "Jamberoo Recreation Park" to Jamberoo Action Park".

[edit] Bobsleds
The Bobsleds are one of the most popular and busiest rides. They feature a slow and a fast track, are started by a traffic light system, and are accessed by the Alpine Chairlift. On the fast track one is advised not to break during the ride.
[edit] Outback Bay
Is a large outside pool with a large wave machine. Tubes are available to play on in the bay. It is the newest ride and replaced an older ride, which was speed boats.
[edit] Rapid River & Billabong Beach
These two attractions where developed at the same time and adjacent to each other. The rapid river is a slow moving ring of water. Billabong Beach is a child's only play area that also has a history section of the area.
[edit] Surf Hill
An 8 lane aquaracer, similar to the one at Wet'n'Wild Water World. It is electronically timed and started.
Due to the limitations placed on development by local planning instruments, a pale shade of green was used for the slide, so as not to adversely affect the physical amenity of the area.
[edit] Splash out
Two waterslides that are relativially old. They twist and turn around the place.
[edit] The rock
Is 2 levels of jumping heights (5m & 3m) into a pool. The water isn't heated. This, though, is still one of the most popular sites in the park, being one of the oldest sites, most older adults would know this ride better than some of the newer ones. It includes a speed slide with a cliff at the end and a tunnel slide.
[edit] Le Mans Racing
A small race track with several petrol motored racing cars in the shape of F1 cars. It is to close in 2008.
