Quartermaster James Miller, United States Navy. Halftone image, copied from Deeds of Valor, Volume II, page 50, published by the Perrien-Keydel Company, Detroit, 1907. Quartermaster Miller was awarded the Medal of Honor for courageous behavior on board USS Marblehead during her engagement with a Confederate battery on John's Island, Stono River, South Carolina, 25 December 1863.
