Hazrat Jalaleddin Ali Mir Abolfazl Angha is the 39th Master of the Oveyssi school.

[edit] Birth and Training

Hazrat Jalaleddin Ali was born on in Ghazvin, Iran on May 16, 1849 A.D. corresponding to 1266 A.H. His noble parentage through forty generations of the Safavid dynasty goes back to Imam Musa al-Kazim, the seventh Imam of the Shia. Until the age of nineteen, he pursued Islamic studies under famous teachers in that city. In 1284 A.H., Hazrat Jalaleddin moved to Tehran where he met his eminent master, Hazrat Abdolghader Jahromi, and studied under his guidance until he passed away. He attained the absolute state of cognition through hard work, obedience, and discipline.

[edit] Appointment of Succesion

Hazrat Jalaleddin Ali became the Pole of his time. In addition to receiving the leadership of the Oveyssi order from Hazrat Jahromi, Hazrat Jalaleddin Ali Mir Abolfazl Angha was given the succession to the Nourbakhshi order, the Nimatullahi order, and to the Maroufi order by Hazrat Agha Mohammad Jassebi, as well as by Hazrat Seyyed Hossein Dezfuli to the Zahabieh order.

Hazrat Jalaleddin Ali Mir Abolfazl Angha composed numerous works in verse and prose on the inward reality of Sufism and the secret sciences as well as philosophical and scientific writings which are considered as great works of our time. Some of his books are:

  • The Principles of Sufism on God's Path (Adab-e Faghr dar Solouk)
  • Sacred Sayings (Ahadith Ghodsi)
  • Beckons of True Lamentation (Esharat al-Hosseinieh)
  • The Illumination of the Disciples' Hearts (Anvar-e Gholoob al-Salekin)
  • The Truth of Virtues (Haghayegh al-Managheb)
  • The Open Blossom: the Explanation of the Book The Rosary of Secrets (Ghonche-ye Baz dar Sharh-e Golshan-e Raz)

He died in Tehran on the 29th of Jamadi-al Av'al, 1339 A.H., corresponding to March 15, 1914. His shrine is located in Ray, ibn-Baveh, Iran.

[edit] Predecessors

Hazrat Jalaleddin's son, Mir Ghotbeddin Mohammad Angha followed his father to become the 40th master of the Oveyssi order, which was then followed by Shah Maghsoud Sadegh Angha, the 41st master. The Oveyssi order is still in existence today with the official and exclusive leadership of Molana-al-Moazam, Hazrat Salaheddin Ali Nader Shah Angha, the great-grandson of Jalaleddin Ali Mir Abolfazl Angha.
