[edit] Blank Fringe
In August of 2005, Jake sent an email to Jhonen Vasquez, who Jake is a fan of. The subject of the email was "Blank Fringe", a phrase that Jake made up seconds earlier. Jhonen never responded, but the title stuck with him. He desided to make a comic, something he had not done since the ill-fated, rarely seen "The Job." He called it "Blank Fringe: Chapter One." It was drawn on the back of some math notes he took in class. There were two stories. One was about a man named Thom Mac, a stick man who usally gets his breakfast stolen by local gangsters, and the second was about the aftermath of a fake movie, which included fights between Jesus and an alien, Walk-in Suicides, a chanel where the programers are too sad to play any shows, and people who actually love each other for who they are. The name Thom Mac comes from a mix of Thom Yorke, the lead singer for Radiohead, and Mac, which was derived from nothing. Jake like the comic and so did his friends. Jake started doing these comics after he was done with his homework. Most later Blank Fringes are full of inside jokes and refrences to Jake's life. In most of the comics, a ghost can be seen. Most Blank Fringe have a recurring theme of irony and suicide. The most talked about Blank Fringe was one that was based on his 1st period class. Jake has refered this to be his "Retard Class." It started after one of the students in this class wouldn't stop laughing. Jake found a peice of paper and began to draw what would be know by his friends as "The Funniest Blank Fringe." After drawing this, Jake went into what he called "an artistic withdraw." In early January 2006, Jake desided to take a break from Blank Fringe after it took too much of a personal meaning. Jake has recently desided to bring Blank Fringe out of its halt after coming up with a great storyline involving a Father and Son moment which turns strange and then very disturbing after he informs his son that he is only 8 years older than him. Jake is now working on an continuation on the story of a man named Murfy, a character which Jake thought was funny while he was trying to be dead serious. Jake has been told to keep up Blank Fringe and not to quit. Jake has many new ideas for Blank Fringe.
[edit] Jake's Thoughts On Blank Fringe
"Most people do not get the content of Brank Fringe. Some comics where most people find humor are depressing puns on my life, if I may say so. A few days ago, Derek Knowles 'helped' on Thoughts At The End Of My Rope. Derek fucked the entire thing, dissrespecting the content and making it his own thing. I had to rework it so much, that it's not even funny. I don't know if he takes things as serious as I do. In fact, I know he doesn't. This has made me ponder 'Does anyone notice?' To me, I beleive not. Don't get me wrong, some are made for pure fun, but some have too much of a personal meaning. I don't know if anyone understands the process of taking a blank peice of paper, and creating everything that your eyes see. It's hard. It's stressful at times. I wish everyone knew the process. It goes farther than what you can see. It's one thing to draw something you have in front of you (for example, horses), but to create the entire thing, taking an image you have conjured up in your mind, and putting it on paper...that is something so much different. It's great to have people injoy my work, but they never know all that goes into it. It's a hard process that not many people can do. I feel blessed that I can. I feel blessed that I can make some crazy ass story, then bounce back with a deep meaningful story, combining elements of my life into it. Reproducing bad moments on paper for all to see. I don't think I'll ever get tired of entertaining people with my work. I plan on taking it to a higher level."

After this failed, Jake pushed them down into his ear harder. When he woke up the next morning, he found out that both were stuck (sounds like this has happend before-Jake Lykins). Jake was able to dig the paper out of his right ear, but the other remained stuck. For the next 13 hours, Jake would have the paper in his ear.
