Jake Goldenflame

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jake Goldenflame (born 1937) is a convicted sex offender and is the author of Overcoming Sexual Terrorism. He was charged with fondling his own daughter four times, and also admitted to having sex with teenage boys. Sent to prison in 1986, he served 5 years in prison before being released in 1991.

After the passage of Megan's Law, Goldenflame began speaking publicly in favor of sex offender registration and notification schemes, saying it should be seen as a tool to help sex offenders recognize their tendencies and acknowledge their debt to society. He has been through training to deal with the temptation of molesting children, and began writing in an effort to help other sex offenders overcome their pedophilic addictions. He also runs the website calsexoffenders.net, which gives Califoria sex offenders tips on how to comply with the ins and outs of California registration laws.

As one of the few sex offenders publicly supporting registration, Goldenflame has appeared on Oprah and been profiled in the San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today and other mass media.
