Jahia is an Enterprise Content Management Server as well as a Corporate Portal Server, a Document Management Server, a Business Processing Server, a Search Engine, a Cache Server and a Collaboration Suite. It is 100% Java based and the full Jahia source code is available under a Collaborative Source license (contribute or pay paradigm).
The core kernel of Jahia is based around an enterprise content management server, using best-of-breed open source frameworks and libraries: AJAX powered GUI, JSR 170 XML import/export, Apache Lucene search engine, JSR 168 portlets standard, an ESI cache server, Dublin Core metadata support.
It can provide a simple and intuitive in-context editing system, full multilanguage and internationalization support, an integrated workflow and business processing system, a dynamically manage cross-site syndicated copies, many ready to use collaborative portlets (discussion forum, calendar server, etc.), allow web and SQL clipping, a virtual site factory, SSO with LDAP or Active Directory support, is clustering ready with specialized dedicated publishing, editing, indexing or processing nodes, an intelligent front-end cache server for fast performances and heavy loads, and a dynamic site replication on remote servers.
