[edit] Welcome from Oleg Alexandrov
Welcome!
Hello, Jackzhp, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- Tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 03:44, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you! I am a new user. I didn't notice this page until recent.
[edit] Your question at open set
I moved it to Talk:Open set, as questions belong on talk pages. You may want to go to the bottom of that page and sign your question, as written above. Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 03:44, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! I just learned it.
[edit] Comments and questions should be on talk pages
Can you please stop inserting arbitrary comments and questions into article pages, as with your edits for:
Thoughts on changes and additions to an article should be added to the relevant talk page. Oli Filth 20:47, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- From User talk:Oli Filth:
- Hi, I just read the message you left to me. Thanks. I just realized that not everybody is entitled to edit the articles. If everybody does it, the the articles will become very messy. Those awful behaviors were really not my intention. Thank you for your message! I just moved my comments about Wiener process to its talk page. I hope that somebody can respond to my comments. I am not an experienced user, do you think that is ok? I hope that this time I am right. Jackzhp(talk) 2006.08.28

- Hi, everyone is entitled to edit articles, but you must remember that they should be readable by the general public at all times, so any content added to them must be informative - the article must still read like an encyclopedia article when you're finished! Any questions, comments or suggestions on what should be added should be posted on the talk pages. Oli Filth 09:12, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

- Also, please mind the grammar when you edit articles. Your recent edit at Metric space was rather poorly written. -- Meni Rosenfeld (talk) 17:48, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Talley stick
This was tagged for deletion as nonsense. Nothing linked to it, and I couldn't make any sense of it either, so I went ahead and deleted it. If this is a legit article, feel free to recreate it, but please make sure there's enough there to provide context. Also, I googled on this term and the results were almost nonexistant. Is this covered in reliable sources anywhere? Friday (talk) 20:53, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Probability density function
I moved your comment at Talk:Probability density function to the bottom of the page, because new sections should always go to the bottom. Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 06:55, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
