Cleanup of geographical confusion An editor wrote: He was born in Ghent, Belgium, and later lived in the Spanish Netherlands, today part of Belgium.
This is awkward: Ghent for all of this period was in the Spanish Netherlands. There was no Belgium at this time; this is like referring to Spanish colonial Santa Fe in the 1600s as the State of New Mexico, United States.
