Jacob Wrestling with the Angel

Jacob Wrestling with the Angel is a common biblical motif depicted in art. The story is described in chapter 32 of Genesis.

It was referenced in the play Angels in America. The version depicted on-screen was an 1865 version by Alexander Louis Leloir.
