Jackson Township, Ohio is an affluent suburban community between Akron and Canton. Often the mailing address is noted as Canton, Massillon, or North Canton. Its motto is "We make things happen."

Jackson Township is bordered by the city of Green to the north, Plain Township and North Canton to the East, Perry Township and Massillon to the south, and Lawrence Township to the west.

A little over 40 years ago, Jackson Township was a sleepy Farm community with slightly over 10,000 residents. The population at the time of the 2000 census was 37,744, although the area is growing rapidly. A 2004 population estimate places the population at 40,061.

Public education in Jackson is provided by Jackson Local Schools, of which Cheryl Haschak is the superintendent. This district is made up of four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The high school is currently under construction, but it is set to be finished in December 2007.

The average income of Jackson Township citizens is $53,391, compared to the national average of $41,994.

Jackson is the second (behind Washington) most popular township name in Ohio; 34 other state townships share the same name.

The township's economy is strong, providing jobs to members in various neighboring communities.

The township is home to a thriving retail market. Westfield Belden Village, The Strip, and its surrounding retail outlets provide residents with a variety of choice in shopping and dining.
