Jackdaw (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jackdaw is a Celtic-Rock band from Buffalo, NY. One of the group's members, George Tutuska, was a former drummer for the Goo Goo Dolls. The band formed in 2000, when George started the group with some childhood friends. Coming from a South Buffalo-Irish background, the group wanted to play rock with an Irish bent (often called "Irish-Rock" or "Celtic-Rock"). In keeping with that theme, the band took its name from a passage from the Frank McCourt memoir Angela's Ashes.
Mike Jordan, who performed vocals and played the guitar, left the band in November 2004. The band has remained a five-piece group ever since. In 2006, a compilation of their first two albums and EPs entitled Brilliant, Sad & Guilty was released. The two disc album includes interviews, live tracks, and studio outtakes.
