[edit] Character information
[edit] Loyalty
Jackalman is usually obedient unless he finds a way to make himself more powerful. For example, there was an instance when Jackalman rebelled against the mutants in order to make his own army. When he had his army, which consisted of Molemaster and the Driller, he was quite impressed with himself and preferred to be called General Jackalman. Any other time Jackalman betrays anyone is usually because he was either working with Mumm-Ra or Monkian. However, Vultureman would be considered much more of a traitor than Jackalman. In the five parter episode, Thundercubs, Vultureman and Jackalman discover some information about the ThunderCats plans. Jackalman laughs and says that Slithe will be very interested in that information but Vultureman insists they tell Luna of the Lunatacs instead. Jackalman is surprised and tells Vultureman that he is a traitor.
[edit] Comical
Jackalman is often the mutant that makes funny remarks and comments. For example, in the episode, Lord of the Snows, Jackalman runs to Castle Plun-Darr across the moat and some of the creatures in the moat try to grab him and he yells, "Get back, it's me you fools! I live here!" This is one of the many examples of Jackalman's sense of humor.
[edit] Cowardice and caution
Jackalman is also probably the most cautious of the mutants. Whenever Slithe declares an attack or expedition Jackalman sometimes questions whether it is safe or if it is such a good idea. Because of this Slithe often accuses Jackalman of being cowardly. In the first episode with Vultureman and his flying machine Slithe insists they use it and attack Lion-O while he’s alone on Hook Mountain. Jackalman questions if the flying machine is safe. Slithe then calls him a cowardly dog and tells him he can stay at home if he is too afraid, and that's what Jackalman does.
[edit] Gratitude
In the episode, The Mountain, and a couple others, we see that the mutants have no need for thanks. This is made quite apparent in this particular episode when Lion-O saves Jackalman's life and then later on demands he return the Sword of Omens which Jackalman stole while Lion-O was unconscious. Then Jackalman replies, "Never do a favor for a favor." This infuriates Lion-O and he let's out a huge roar. Jackalman also mentions in the episode that he believes the ThunderCats code of honor is a handicap and tells Lion-O not to expect any thanks from him. However, in the episode, Tight Squeeze, when Lion-O, Cheetara, and Panthro save Slithe from falling of a cliff Slithe says in a low tone, "Thanks ThunderCats." But right after that he uses his big tail to knock them all off the cliff along with his nosediver. Although Slithe didn't exactly show his gratitude he still said thanks.
[edit] Skinniest of the Mutants
Jackalman is the skinniest of the mutants but it did come in handy in the episode, Tight Squeeze. Since the weapons were locked in the Sword Chamber the ThunderCats had to rely on Snarf to crawl through the ventilation shaft to get the Sword of Omens. Slithe sends Jackalman after him since he and Monkian wouldn't fit. At first Jackalman is hesitant to go in but he does go in after Snarf. Although Jackalman does not stop Snarf from getting the sword he is surprisingly able to get through the ventilation shaft easier than Snarf. At the end of the episode Snarf admits he has gained some pounds lately.
