Jack P. Shepherd (born 14 January 1988, Pudsey, Yorkshire, UK) is an English actor best known for his role in Coronation Street playing David Platt, son of Gail and Martin Platt. He joined the show in April 2000, replacing Thomas Ormson in the role. He appeared in Oliver! at Bradford's Alhambra theatre.

In late 2005 his character became more central as he tried to deal with his father moving away to Liverpool, and his mother Gail becoming involved with another man.

David has been in trouble, caught skipping school, and was found drunk on the school playing field. In 2006 his onscreen mother Gail and his sister Sarah-Louise Platt began receiving greeting cards from Gail Platt's ex-husband, serial killer Richard Hillman. Gail accused her neighbour Eileen Grimshaw of sending the cards as they do not get on because neither approve of the relationship between Sarah and Eileen's son, Jason Grimshaw.

The card sender was revealed in May 2006 as none other than Gail's own son, David Platt.

He supports Leeds United Football Club.

He has one brother called Tom and one sister called Amy.
