Jabberwocky is the Creative Writing Magazine at the University of Nottingham. As of 2006 it has only been running for a short time but is already building an excellent reputation[citation needed]. It is written and created by students, for students. As of April 2006 it is not a society in itself, but is affiliated with the University's English Society. It is due to become officially affiliated with the University of Nottingham Students' Union in September 2006 as the Creative Writing Society's Magazine.[citation needed]

[edit] Magazine

Four issues are released every year and they contain a selection of the best work created by the University's students, from poetry to short stories to play extracts. Each issue is sixteen pages and is produced in colour.

It is free and is available from the University Park Campus, Nottingham. Back issues are available from the magazine's website.

[edit] Word Out

Alongside producing the magazine, Jabberwocky also hosts Word Out. Word Out are two seasons of events - one towards Christmas, the other near Easter - with a number of guest speakers and workshops. These have only been running for a short time, but a prestigious list of names is already compiled for future talks[citation needed].
