[edit] Esther Delisle

Just wondering why you removed the section about GĂ©rard Bouchard's letter to le Devoir from Esther Delisle. The date of his letter was supplied and the text is easily found online. John FitzGerald 14:57, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

On looking at the article again I think I see what you were getting at. I restored the section with a few more fact tags and a modification to show that Bouchard's claims about the extent of the inaccuracy in Delisle's work are just claims (as far as i know, no one has confirmed them). Given that the letter is clearly sourced I think it's thoroughly in keeping with Wikipedia policy to keep it in, at least.

I do, though, have a problem with the note about Delisle's not having a Quebec university job. It's not really indicative of anything. On second thought, think I'll go back and take it out. John FitzGerald 15:07, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. You're right. As you may have guessed, I'm disturbed by the same articles myself, for much the same reason. My history with the Delisle article also affected my decision here. The Bouchard paragraph is the survivor of a long section I introduced to clarify exactly what the dispute was about, and that a lot of it was spurious. Anyway, I'm going to check the article now and if you haven't reverted it, I will. Thanks. John FitzGerald 17:49, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

It turns out Mathieugp and Bearcat have been addressing these issues as well, which I didn't notice until after I'd reverted to your version. They're serious guysm so I reverted back to Mathieugp's last version and will raise the issues with him and Bearcat, or at oleast on the talk page. Since it's becoming clear to me I'm not alert enough at the moment to be dealing with these issues I'm postponing that till later. John FitzGerald 18:12, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
