[edit] Victoria Cross Reference

Please note that wikipedia articles need to be wikified. Importing text without formatting it is frowned upon by many editors, please try to edit your entry, before you import another one. Thanks! [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 16:27, Nov 27, 2004 (UTC)

Hey, great work with bringing in these Victorian Cross bios, but remember to wikify other nationalities than the British. I have had to wikify Russian twice now upon reviewing only three of the hundred plus articles you have uploaded today. It may be a good idea to comb through each article for wikifications before moving on to the next one. Thanks again. Arminius 10:18, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for your concern. Am helping the webmaster of the Victoria Cross Reference website to migrate the contents to Wikipedia. The entries are more or less modified to meet basic Wikipedia criteria. I think it's up to future users to "wikify" the data more. J.N. Houterman 12:36, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)

You should at least disambiguate English to England and British to Britain or United Kingdom. e.g. English. RedWolf 17:47, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)

Great work with these Victorain Cross bios! Not many users achieve well over 500 edits in 3 days! Brianjd

Thanks for the kind words Brianjd! Some more 100 to go and then all are uploaded. Next the task to all of us to enhance & wikify them. J.N. Houterman 17:32, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] James Llewellyn Davies

Do you know if he's related to the Llewellyn Davies family who were friends of J. M. Barrie and the inspiration for Peter Pan? RickK 00:37, Nov 29, 2004 (UTC)

I'm very sorry, but haven't the faintest idea. J.N. Houterman 17:33, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Frederick Thornton Peters

Since you created this article, you might be able to help with my question about his VC citation; see Talk:Frederick Thornton Peters. Gdr 01:32, 2004 Dec 15 (UTC)

Added my comments there. Cheers, J.N. Houterman 10:40, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Samuel Harvey

Hi, good work on uploading all the VC stuff. When you uploaded this article from the Victoria Cross Reference, you included a large section from the Daily Telegraph. Is there permission to include this text here? If not, it may well be a copyright infringement. Perhaps you could have a look at this. Cheers, Smoddy (t) (e) 13:34, 27 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing it out. I just helped out the webmaster of the Victoria Cross Reference website http://www.victoriacross.net/ Please contact him about the contents. Cheers, --J.N. Houterman 22:46, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
